Liverpool were outclassed in the opening half of this Champions League Final, as they found themselves 3-0 down after 45 minutes.
Milan skipper Paolo Maldini put his side ahead after just 52 seconds, and from then on it was a master class from the Italian giants.
Then goals from on-loan Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo in the 39th and 44th minutes left Liverpool shattered, with their dreams of a fifth European crown seemingly in tatters.
