Eddie Irvine ‘planning move to buy Jordan F1 team’

Former Jordan driver Eddie Irvine is reportedly planning a move to buy the outfit with whom he made his Formula One debut.

Reports this morning said the Irishman was in Monaco this weekend to discuss the possible takeover on the fringes of the prestigious Monte Carlo Grand Prix.

Irvine made his F1 debut in 1993 with Jordan, which was owned at the time by Irish businessman Eddie Jordan.

The struggling team was sold last December to steel magnate Alex Schnaider, who is now believed to be willing to sell the outfit.
