Business community unhappy with benchmarking

20/05/2005 - 15:27:26
The business community says public sector benchmarking has failed to deliver on promised reforms.

Up to 90% of delegates attending a business forum organised by the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland in Cork said they believed the payments have not seen productivity gains.

The CCI says there should be no new round of benchmarking until improvements have been achieved, quantified and agreed.

The survey also identified transport infrastructure deficits, local government charges and red tape as the top three issues threatening competitiveness.
