U2 ‘hoping to play fourth gig at Croke Park this summer’

U2 are reportedly hoping to play a fourth gig at Dublin's Croke Park this summer.

Reports this morning said the rock band were seeking planning permission for another gig on top of the three sell-out concerts due to take place at the end of next month.

Meanwhile, residents living around Croke Park are seeking legal advice due to a dispute with the GAA over the performances.

The residents have accused the GAA of reneging on an offer to give them almost 5,000 free tickets worth €360,000.

The dispute concerns a deal struck in 2003 whereby free tickets are provided to locals for non-GAA events at Croke Park.
