Pamarot to miss start of next season

Tottenham defender Noe Pamarot has had surgery on his knee and is set to miss the start of next season.

The 26-year-old French defender damaged a cruciate ligament earlier this month when he fell awkwardly early on in Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Birmingham at St Andrews.

Pamarot, who was signed from Nice in the summer, remains positive despite his injury setback.

He said: “The operation went well and now I’m feeling much better,” Pamarot told the club’s official website www.spurs.co.uk

“It’s a shame to miss the end of the season and I’ll miss the beginning of next season as well but these things happen in football. At least it’s happened when I’m still young rather than later in my career.

“You never know what’s next in football and when things like this happen, you have to keep your head up and keep smiling.”

Meanwhile, England under-21 midfielder Dean Marney has signed a two-year extension to his contract which was due to expire shortly.
