Car sales climb 16% in 2005
28/04/2005 - 11:34:29New figures have revealed a surge in the number of new cars being bought during the first three months of the year.
The Central Statistics Office said today that more than 67,000 new cars were licensed in the first quarter of the year, an increase of 16% on the same period last year.
It said more than 23,000 new cars were licensed in March alone, with Toyota the most popular brand, followed by Ford, Renault, Volkswagen, Nissan and Opel.
