Proclamation heading for York
Jeremy Noseda is to step Proclamation up to Group Two level for next month’s totesport Dante Stakes at York.
The King’s Best colt went down as a possible Vodafone Derby contender when he scored by three and a half lengths on his only juvenile start in a mile maiden at Newmarket last October.
Noseda’s charge, a 33-1 chance with Ladbrokes for Epsom’s blue riband, is being tuned up for the May 12 contest over a mile and a quarter on the Knavesmire.
The Newmarket handler told www.jeremynoseda.com: “We’ve been happy with his progress. He had a little bit of a setback in the winter which meant we would not get him back to the racetrack until May.
“But he has been going well in his work over the last couple of weeks and he will head to the Dante Stakes at York.
“He won his maiden well. However, all I would add is that the form of that race looks quite ordinary and the Dante will answer questions as to the level of his ability.”
