US firm to lay off 25 in Shannon
26/04/2005 - 12:32:29A US electronics firm has announced plans to lay off 25 workers at its facility in the Shannon industrial estate in Co Clare.
Molex, which also has an operation in Millstreet, Co Cork, said it was planning to close the Shannon facility as part of a restructuring of its Irish business.
It said a voluntary redundancy package would be offered to the 25 staff affected by the closure.
The announcement brings to more than 230 the number of job losses announced in Clare in recent weeks.
