Collins rallies Hoops fans

25/04/2005 - 10:54:00
Shamrock Rovers’ manager Roddy Collins has urged all lapsed Rovers’ supporters to come out and support the club in next week’s game against Cork City.

The cash strapped Hoops are €2.3m in debt and have just appointed an examiner to look into ways of saving the club, but Collins believes that the best thing fans can do now is turn up in their thousands.

“I have a message or all Rovers supporters to come back and watch us next Friday because it will enable us to get through our Examinership period smoothly,” said Collins.

“The players and the management are going to play in through the turnstiles as a gesture of goodwill to the fans who have backed us up.”

Rovers will find out more about the extent of their problems today when they are once again in the High Court to hear the petition from creditors.
