'One tenth of third-level students have had unprotected sex'
25/04/2005 - 11:24:36One-tenth of third-level students in Ireland have engaged in unprotected sex, according to a study conducted by the Government's Health Promotion Unit.
The study, conducted in 21 colleges and universities, also found that more than two-fifths of female students had taken the morning after pill.
Elsewhere, it found that students spend around €80m on alcohol during the college year and frequently engaged in binge drinking.
The Health Promotion Unit said regular binge drinkers spent less time studying than others and more time in paid employment.
