ISEQ make poor start

The ISEQ index of shares made a poor start to the week as it slipped back 36.15 points to 5935.91 in early trading today.

Building groups were particularly badly hit, with CRH down 23c at €19.65 and Kingspan down 21c at €9.49.

It was also a bad morning for the financials, whose stocks lost ground across the board. Anglo Irish was worst hit, shedding 12c in early trading to €9.50. AIB lost 2c to stand at €16.15, while Bank of Ireland lost 6c to €12.13. Irish Life & Permanent was down 5c to €13.40.

The most traded stocks this morning were CRH, AIB, Kerry, Anglo Irish and Jurys.
