Sober sets shock Fonda
24/04/2005 - 12:48:17Actress Jane Fonda was shocked to discover set crew members are clean and sober these days when she returned to acting after a 15-year break.
The star came out of semi-retirement to star alongside Jennifer Lopez in new comedy Monster In Law and found life on a movie set a lot different from how it used to be.
She said: "What's interesting about making movies is getting to know the crew. In normal life I'm not able to get to know an electrician or a prop guy.
"A lot of women are on the crew and that used not be the case. What's different now is half the crew is in recovery.
"When I left the business 15 years ago there were a lot of drugs and a lot of drinking on movie sets after hours. It's different today and that was really nice."
