Raiders use baseball bat in NI robbery
23/04/2005 - 13:33:17A man was seriously injured today after raiders broke into his home and beat him with a baseball bat.
The three male intruders broke into the man’s house in Dunclug Park in Ballymena at 7am.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland said one of them picked up a baseball bat which was already in the house. “He hit the victim a number of times about the head and body,” a spokesman said.
The man suffered lacerations to his head and a suspected fractured left arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
The raiders stole three mobile phones, a black fender electric guitar, a video recorder and a CD player.
The PSNI appealed to any witnesses who saw suspicious activity around the Dunclug Park area to contact detectives in Ballymena.
