Vassell pushing for Villa recall
22/04/2005 - 15:14:30Darius Vassell is pushing for a recall to the Aston Villa starting line-up for the visit of Bolton.
The England striker’s ankle has improved in the past few days after he had only been fit enough to be on the substitutes’ bench for Wednesday’s goalless draw with Charlton.
Villa manager David O’Leary will again have to rely on the makeshift central defensive partnership of Mark Delaney and Jlloyd Samuel to combat the physical presence of the Trotters.
Olof Mellberg and Martin Laursen are still ruled out through injury while Liam Ridgewell completes a three-match suspension.
