Competition Authority begins GP price-fixing probe
22/04/2005 - 07:54:54The Competition Authority has carried out searches of the offices of the Irish Medical Organisation as part of an investigation into possible price-fixing by GPs.
Reports this morning said staff from the Authority, along with the gardaí, visited the IMO offices in Dublin on Wednesday to investigate possible breaches of competition law.
The investigation is believed to centre on the fees doctors charge for medical reports on patients.
