Aer Lingus frustration at Dublin Airport security delays

Aer Lingus has expressed growing frustration at lengthy delays caused by new security measures introduced at Dublin Airport more than a week ago.

Stringent security checks were introduced after EU inspectors managed to smuggle a replica bomb and knives through the airport.

Aer Lingus said today that 130 of its flights had been delayed because of the new checks, while 200 of its passengers had missed flights while being held up at security.

The company said this was also causing further problems when bags have to be taken off aircraft.
