Sigmoid announces major deal with Inncardio
Sigmoid Biotechnologies today announced an agreement with Inncardio for the co-development and licence of two novel formulations of established drugs.
The deal is anticipated to help achieve combined peak annual sales of $1bn (€760m).
“This agreement provides an accelerated route to market for two of our lead compounds. We anticipate that the first of our co-developments with Inncardio, our first with Bioaccelerate, will be ready for marketing approval within three years,” said Ivan Coulter, CEO and co-found of Sigmoid.
Simoid was founded by Dr Ivan Coulter, and Joey Moodley, former Ntera and Elan executives respectively.
Sigmoid Biotechnologies Ltd is focused on the development of a proprietary drug delivery technology, LEDDS. LEDDS enables the development of controlled release of drugs that are formulated in liquid or emulsion format, a process that previously was suited only to drugs that are available in powdered form.
Inncardio is a subsidiary of Bioaccelerate Holdings and is a biotechnology company engaged in the acquisition, development and commercialization of treatments and therapies targeted at cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
