Resurgent ISEQ pushes past 6000 landmark
The ISEQ has managed to claw back almost half of yesterday's losses, standing up 43.45 to stand at 6,021.09 today.
Financial stocks have fared well today. Shares in Allied Irish Bank have climbed 11c while Bank of Ireland shares have also performed very well, rising 10c to €12.27.
Shares in Anglo-Irish Bank have jumped 35c to €19.20 while Irish Life & Permanent shares have edged 5c higher to €13.65.
Elsewhere shares in Ryanair have climbed 11c to €5.78. Ryanair today announced four new routes from Frankfurt-Hahn to Bratislava (Slovakia), Porto (Portugal), Gdansk and Rzeszow (Poland).
FBD Holdings has also bounced back today, climbing 20c to €22.80.
Meanwhile Greencore chief financial officer Patrick Kennedy will take over as chief executive of bookmaker Paddy Power.
Already a non-executive director, Mr Kennedy will join the company as CEO designate in the autumn. Shares in Greencore have slipped 5c to €3.10 while Paddy Power shares are unchanged at €13.75.
Among the fallers today are business support services group DCC, which fell 10c to €17.40.
