€11m A&E opens at Cork University Hospital
18/04/2005 - 13:10:46A new €11m accident and emergency department has opened at Cork University Hospital today.
The Health Service Executive said the new facility, which is part of a €220m expansion programme at the hospital, was capable of handling 50,000 patients every year.
It replaces the hospital's existing A&E unit, which could only treat around 42,000 people annually.
