Italian job for Rakti

Connections of the enigmatic six-year-old had been considering aiming the son of Polish Precedent at the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes on May 14.
However, his trainer Michael Jarvis has indicated he is more likely to send Rakti to Italy for the race he won in 2003.
“We’ll probably start him off in Rome – the race he won two years ago – the day after the Lockinge,” Jarvis said today.
“He’s Italian-bred and there’s a 100 per cent premium if he wins it. So if it’s worth £150,000 (€219,600) he gets double that amount.”
