A quality romantic drama from debut director Braff and fine acting from same as a TV star whose big day never came. He heads to his home town for his mother's funeral and there reunites with his old friends.

It's an off-beat, downright quirky, story about discovering oneself and coming to terms with that discovery and it's brilliantly-handled by Braff, on both counts as director and star.

It helps that he's well-served by the likes of Portman and Sarsgaard and it's a gem of a film.
