McDowell announces €1m childcare funding
07/04/2005 - 08:21:17Justice Minister Michael McDowell has announced a €1m funding allocation for 18 childcare projects nationwide.
Mr McDowell said the money would lead to the creation of 345 new childcare places and would support 391 existing places in 10 counties.
He said this meant that 36,500 new childcare places had been approved under the EU-supported Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme in recent years, 24,600 of which had already come on stream.
