Kildare, Offaly vote in favour of opening Croker
06/04/2005 - 01:44:00Kildare and Offaly have thrown their weight behind the growing list of counties in favour of opening up Croke Park, following their respective county board meetings last night.
Rule 42 was discussed at the meetings in Newbridge and Tullamore, and both counties agreed to support a motion calling for Croke Park to be made available to rugby and soccer while Lansdowne Road is being redeveloped.
Galway, Donegal, Meath, Tipperary and Waterford have also backed various motions on the use of the stadium for other sports in recent days.
Derry, Carlow and New York delegates will discuss the issue at their respective meetings tomorrow night, ahead of the annual Congress in Croke Park on April 15 and 16.
