Carey hates using lifts in Europe
06/04/2005 - 14:25:36Mariah Carey says she hates using lifts in Britain because they are "so much smaller" than what she's used to back home in America.
The 35-year-singer says that after being stuck several times in elevators in Germany, Japan and in her own apartment she really, really hates elevators but goes in them when she has to. She says she'd prefer to take the stairs, even when she's in her heels.
Meanwhile, the star has denied she is a "diva" and rubbished press reports that said she demanded on her arrival at London's Bagloni Hotel last month three-foot candles and a red carpet.
She insists that she "wouldn't have noticed if it was a purple carpet with polka dots on it", as she'd just got off a plane at three in the morning and her only thought was: 'Where's the bed?'
