National Farm Safety Week begins
04/04/2005 - 08:42:12Safety in agriculture is due to come under the spotlight this week as National Farm Safety Week gets underway.
The campaign is due to focus on four main areas - safety for the elderly, completion of farm safety self-assessment programmes, tractor maintenance and machine guarding.
The Health and Safety Authority said 14 people died in agriculture-related accidents last year and five fatalities have also been recorded so far this year.
