IMO calls for visas for non-EU doctors

The Irish Medical Organisation has called for non-EU doctors to be given visas to work in Ireland in an effort to alleviate staff shortages in Irish hospitals.

The organisation has also called for improved training for junior doctors to prevent them from moving away to other countries.

The issue was one of several discussed at the IMO's annual conference over the weekend.
