Donegal goal flurry sinks Cork

Donegal 3-11 Cork 1-07

Donegal chalked up their second win of the league campaign as Adrian Sweeney, Colm McFadden and Brendan Devenney all goaled in the second half against Cork.

The Rebels, who had Anthony Lynch yellow carded nearing the hour mark, only scored three second half points as their charge petered out.

James Masters struck a 27th-minute goal, adding to his netbuster against Dublin last time out, to hand Cork a 1-04 to 0-04 lead at the break.

While Shaun Boylan reacted well to deny Sean Levis in the first half, a yellow card each to the Donegal goalkeeper and Eamon Reddin in the second half looked to have dented the chances of a comeback from the home side.

Yet, they roared back into contention as Sweeney, Colm McFadden and Devenney all found the Cork net.

A flood of points from Brian Roper, Devenney and Christy Toye had eased Donegal clear, between the goals.
