Armagh 0-10 Limerick 0-09

Armagh confirmed their standing as head and shoulders above the rest of the Division 1B pack at Crossmaglen - but they did labour in defeating Limerick.

The Shannonsiders - now relegated thanks to their fifth defeat - tried manfully with Muiris Gavin chipping in with seven points (0-06f).

But Joe Kernan's Armagh just had too much class as Steven McDonnell, Brian Mallon, Aidan O'Rourke and Ronan Clarke grabbed their scores in the opening half.

The sides were locked at 0-05 apiece after a disappointing first half - with Gavin accounting for four of Limerick's points.

Stephen Kelly did put the visitors in front after the break, but with Kernan wheeling on heavyweights Kieran McGeeney, Paul McGrane and Oisin McConville - Armagh won out.

Conor Fitzgerald, Michael Reidy and Gavin kept the Limerick scoreboard ticking, while Armagh were reliant on a closing score from McDonnell to claim the spoils.
