McCarthy may miss Cork clash
31/03/2005 - 08:34:46Cork forward Timmy McCarthy could miss the Rebel's Munster SHC first round clash against Waterford in Thurles on May 22.
The Castlelyons club man suffered a badly-torn hamstring during last Sunday's league victory over Tipperary in Thurles.
Rebel boss John Allen said: "It's too early to say if he'll miss the championship game, but it will be touch and go."
McCarthy joins All Star defender Wayne Sherlock as an injury doubt for the repeat of last year's Munster final.
Sherlock is recovering from surgery on a groin injury and is expected to return to fitness just prior to the Thurles date, so he is unlikely to be risked.
