A&E crisis to dominate IMO conference in Killarney

The on-going overcrowding crisis in Ireland's accident and emergency departments is expected to dominate the Irish Medical Organisation's annual conference, which gets underway in Killarney, Co Kerry, today.

Other issues up for discussion at the three-day gathering include obesity, tobacco, alcohol and services for the mentally ill.

The IMO delegates will also consider the on-going dispute over medical insurance cover that brought the organisation to the brink of strike action earlier this year.
