Stoute performer Tomoohat gains Guineas support
Michael Stoute’s Tomoohat has been the subject of some significant support for the UltimatePoker.com 1000 Guineas today.
The Danzig filly has raced just once to date, winning a soft ground maiden at Newmarket in mid-October, but punters have been keen to back her with Ladbrokes slashing her odds to 14-1 from 33-1 for the May 1 event.
“The filly must have worked very impressively as eagle-eyed punters were unrepentant about snapping up all prices down to her current mark,” said spokesman Balthazar Fabricius.
Totesport and William Hill currently go 16-1, and the former’s representative Damian Walker added: “The money we have seen today suggests that Michael Stoute’s 1000 Guineas hand is getting stronger by the day as he also has the 10-1 fourth favourite, Discuss.”
Coral are more generous, offering 20-1 having earlier gone 33s.
“Three hefty wagers in our Newmarket shop caused alarm bells to ring back at Barking HQ, and they strongly suggest that Tomoohat is Stoute’s number one filly for the Guineas,” said the firm’s Simon Clare.
