New ferry for Belfast-Heysham route
30/03/2005 - 17:13:45NorseMerchant Ferries has secured the charter of the roll-on/roll-off ferry Lembitu for its Belfast-Heysham services.
Built in 1998, Lembitu is able to carry 12 drivers. She will replace the older Merchant Brilliant, built in 1978, which has been chartered out to Cobelfret.
With a service speed of 16.5 knots, Lembitu is faster than Merchant Brilliant and will improve scheduling and reliability on the Heysham - Belfast route.
