Baird set to retain NI place

Southampton defender Chris Baird looks set to retain his place in the Northern Ireland team to face Poland in their World Cup qualifier in Warsaw tomorrow.

Baird has now recovered from a stomach virus which troubled him following the 4-0 defeat by England at the weekend.

Manager Lawrie Sanchez said today: “Chris is okay, there is no problem.”
