Fenlon anger at sending off
28/03/2005 - 22:10:58Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon has blasted Cork City star George O’Callaghan for feigning injury and getting David Crawley sent off in tonight’s Setanta Cup clash at Turner’s Cross.
Cork won the game 1-0 thanks to a Denis Behan goal though both sides ended the clash with 10 men as Joe Gamble of Cork and Crawler received their marching orders.
Fenlon was incensed by the dismissal of Crawley in injury time for an alleged head butt on O’Callaghan. Television replays showed minimal contact and Fenlon was furious with O’Callaghan’s reaction as he fell to the ground holding his head.
“George doesn’t have to do that. He’s a good player and doesn’t need to feign injury. I thought the sending off was a disgraceful decision.”
