Revenue to investigate politicians' expenses

The Revenue Commissioners are investigating the travel and subsistence expenses claimed by politicians.

The Commission has said the issue of how TDs, Senators and public servants pay tax on such expenses needs to be addressed.

Confirmation of the revenue's review comes as new figures show government departments paid out more than €30m in travel expenses last year.
