Man climbs on to dome of St Peter's

A man climbed on to the side of the dome of St Peter’s Basilica today, and an Italian news report said it appeared he was threatening to jump.

Sky TG24 TV showed a man in a dark jacket holding on to the side of the dome after apparently climbing over the barrier meant to protect tourists.

The Vatican fire department confirmed there was a man on the dome but didn’t immediately provide details.
