Elwood announces intention to retire

Connacht veteran Eric Elwood has announced his intention to retire from rugby at the end of this season.

However, Elwood, who has been capped 35 times for Ireland, played in two World Cups, and earned 167 caps for his province, is looking forward to Connacht’s clash with Sale in the Challenge Cup on Saturday week.

He won his first cap for Ireland in 1993 against Wales.
