GPs will have to accept medical card scheme - Harney
24/03/2005 - 16:08:57Minister for Health Mary Harney has said that doctors must accept the new special medical cards scheme.
Ms Harney said that nothing should get in the way of people on low incomes getting treatment from their GPs.
The Irish Medical Organisation is advising its members not to treat anyone under the new scheme.
The doctors union has said that it represents a change to their contracts, and therefore consultation is required.
