NRA to be asked to outline plans for new Dublin orbital road
23/03/2005 - 11:37:58The National Roads Authority is due to outline details of a proposed new orbital road around Dublin during an appearance before the Oireachtas transport committee today.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Fianna Fáil TD and committee chairman John Ellis said he would be asking about the planned route and construction time-table for the proposed road.
"As well as that, I think we will be saying to them that we don't want to see this used as an access road for major developments," Mr Ellis said.
"We want it left as a road that would be able to move traffic very fast and avoid the urban areas and the suburbs of Dublin."
