Harney to limit nursing home charges compensation

That would prevent pensioners and their families recovering charges levied more than seven years ago.
The State is facing a compensation bill of up to €2bn for charges wrongly imposed for nursing home care.
"There was broad support for the concept of charging for shelter and maintenance," said Ms Harney "People got shelter and maintenance, the tragedy is it wasn't legislated for."
