Dublin garages selling petrol and diesel at same price
23/03/2005 - 12:26:01A majority of Dublin service stations are selling petrol and diesel at the same price, according to the RAC.
The motoring organisation said that three quarters of stations inspected as part of a recent survey it carried out were selling both fuels at the same price.
Diesel has traditionally been cheaper than petrol, off-setting the higher cost of investing in a diesel vehicle.
The RAC said it was disappointed with the price changes in Dublin because they will remove the incentive to run diesel cars, which are more environmentally friendly.
It has also called on the Government to consider reducing VRT on diesel vehicles to encourage motorists to buy them.
