Deal reached to hand over West Bank town
21/03/2005 - 16:04:44A deal for the Israelis hand over the West Bank town of Tulkarem to Palestinian security control was reached today after appearing to break down in earlier talks.
Officials said the two sides would sign an agreement later in the day, and the pullout would begin shortly after.
Tulkarem would become the second of five West Bank towns to be handed over to the Palestinians. Israel handed over security control for Jericho last week.
Talks on the handover on Sunday night and earlier today had ended in stalemate.
