Hughes appeals for rest for Dickov
21/03/2005 - 14:55:29Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has appealed to Scotland manager Walter Smith to send striker Paul Dickov back home to rest.
Dickov has been playing for several months with a groin problem but was due to report for international duty today.
Hughes said: “He’s struggling at the moment with injuries. He’ll go with Scotland and they’ll have a look at him but really, the guy needs complete rest so hopefully they’ll see sense and understand his situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him coming back.”
