Bank of Scotland issues internet ‘pharming’ warning

The Bank of Scotland is the latest bank to fall victim to computer viruses that re-direct online customers to fake websites.

The bank has issued a warning about the attacks, which are known in the computer industry as “pharming” and "phishing".

Criminals use the information typed into the false sites to commit fraud on the users real bank accounts.

Last week Bank of Ireland shut down a site which invited its customers to declare account details to fraudsters.
