NAPAR announces €200,000 grant to fight racism
18/03/2005 - 16:00:42The National Action Plan Against Racism (NAPAR) has announced a €200,000 sports and recreation grant.
The money will help more people from ethnic minorities to get into activities, and also help the governing bodies of these activities to promote inter-culturalism and anti-racism initiatives.
Lucy Gaffney, chairperson of NAPAR's Steering Group, said that the grant supports Ireland's good race relations and points to the widespread public reaction to a Nigerian Leaving Cert student's recent deportation as a sign that integration is working.
