Gardaí investigate suspicious death in Waterford City
17/03/2005 - 13:08:25Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a suspicious death in the city.
The body of a 49-year-old man was discovered at an apartment on Williams Street at about 5am today.
He died following an assault.
The body is still at the scene and it being preserved pending the arrival of the state pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy.
The Garda Technical Bureau is also expected.
A 29-year-old man is being detained at Waterford City garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 12 hours.
