Stringer fit to face Wales

16/03/2005 - 15:17:37
Doubts over the fitness of Ireland scrum-half Peter Stringer were eased today when he was given the all-clear to feature in Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales.

Stringer sat out training yesterday with a back spasm and Ireland boss Eddie O’Sullivan had said his medical team would monitor the situation over the rest of the week.

Kieran Campbell was on standby as cover but the Ulster half-back has returned to his province following the news that Stringer, who will win his 56th cap on Saturday, has made a full recovery.

Reggie Corrigan is the only remaining doubt for the trip to Cardiff after the Leinster prop reported some stiffness in his knee.
