Waterford's Murphy gets trial
15/03/2005 - 10:27:17Waterford United’s Daryl Murphy is set for another trial in England with Sunderland inviting the striker to their training ground next week.
The Republic of Ireland Under 21 star hit 21 goals for Waterford last season attracting plenty of interest, with Manchester City and Ipswich Town both monitoring his progress.
Murphy travelled to Ipswich over the winter though a groin injury meant he was unable to train properly and he recently agreed a new two-year deal with Waterford.
However, Murphy is still hoping to make the grade in England and Waterford have agreed to sell the striker should an English club make a bid.
