Injured Cragg forced out
15/03/2005 - 11:32:19Alistair Cragg has been forced out of this weekend's World Cross-Country race in France due to a back injury.
Athletics Ireland announced Cragg's withdrawal this morning.
"Alistair had missed some training after his back froze after an eight-mile run a few days ago and had been having difficulty even in walking since," said a spokesman.
"He tried to run yesterday but to no avail. There is no clear diagnosis yet but a pinched nerve is suspected.
"Alistair is hugely disappointed as he had anticipated being in contention for a challenge in the short course race."
