PSNI to re-interview suspect in Robert McCartney murder

15/03/2005 - 07:27:46
Police in the North have revealed plans to re-interview one of the main suspects in the murder of Belfast man Robert McCartney.

The suspect is believed to be one of three IRA members expelled from the organisation in connection with the January 30 murder.

Several people have already been arrested over the killing of the 33-year-old father-of-two, but nobody has been charged with any offence.

Meanwhile, Sinn Féin's Martin McGuinness has accused the PSNI of tailoring its investigation into the murder to cause maximum damage to Sinn Féin.

He claimed key witnesses were not being questioned and suspects who turned themselves in were being released within hours.
